Nyima Dorjee (Bhotia)
Nyima Dorjee (Bhotia) holds a master’s in Anthropology from the Central Department of Anthropology, Tribhuvan University, and a bachelor’s in History from Delhi University, India. He is also a graduate of Nepa School of Social Sciences and Humanities. He has worked as a teaching assistant and program coordinator for an abroad-study programme based in Kathmandu. He was also engaged in a five-year research project, Remoteness & Connectivity: Highland Asia in the World, as a research associate. His research interests include migration, borderland citizen, road and infrastructure, and trans-Himalayan trade. At Social Science Baha, he is involved in different projects including editing of conference proceedings. His photo essays On the Road: Commodities, Trade, and Transportation in Northwest Nepal and On the Road in Rasuwa, Nepal have appeared in Himalaya, the Journal of the Association for Nepal and Himalayan Studies.
