Kumar Aryal completed his Masters of Philosophy in Anthropology from Tribhuvan University with specialisation in disaster studies and his thesis was titled Anthropology of Disaster: Community Level Impact Assessment of Earthquake 2015 (An ethnographic study of Tarakeshwor Municipality of Kathmandu district). He is also a recipient of the Bihari Krishna Fellowship for Ethnographic Research for undertaking An Ethnographic study of selected communities affected by the Great Earthquake 2015. He has Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Management from Pokhara University. Prior to joining SSB, Mr. Aryal had been working as an anthropologist/environmentalist on environmental and social impact assessments of various development projects like hydropower, road, airport, drinking water, among others. His area of interests includes disaster studies and impact assessment of different development activities.
