This report is based on the evaluation of an 18-month-long public health intervention programme implemented in the-then two village development committees (VDCs) of Makwanpur District— Makwanpurgadhi and Tistung—by Birat Nepal Medical Trust (BNMT) with the support of the global humanitarian organisation, Americares. The evaluation looked at support provided to activities related to the reconstruction of health facilities; water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH); Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Programme (MHPSSP); and the Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Programme. It attempted to examine the processes, impacts, effectiveness, and strengths and limitations of the programme. It is expected that lessons can be learnt from the experiences in Makwanpur for future post-disaster interventions by Americares and other like-minded organisations.
