Supported by: Humanity United, US
Project duration: 1 September 2010 to 15 October 2010
In September 2010, Social Science Baha undertook the project ‘Trafficking and Forced Labour in Nepal: Literature Review and Gaps Analysis’. The overall objective of the project was to compile and critically analyse the existing state of knowledge on different forms of human trafficking and forced labour existing in Nepal and how this affects different groups of people within and outside the country. To fulfil the objective, extensive literature review and consultations with different stakeholders – government officials, policy-makers; practitioners, rights activists and journalists; representatives of national and international NGOs; and representatives of international organisations was carried out in Kathmandu as well as in four districts of western and far western Nepal.
