Developing a Library Consortium in Nepal and Digital Resources Acquisitions
(in collaboration with the Central Library, Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu)

The workshop discussed how libraries and allied communities could work together by forming a consortium. The need for a consortium in Nepal was felt in the face of the growing convergence of information and the electronic media, and as a means for Nepali organisations to best make use of this and related developments. Following this workshop, and lobbying by the Baha, all Nepali non-profit organisations were granted free access to the journal database JSTOR for the period 2009-2011.
