Job Creation and Competence Building Research Workshop 2025
29-30 April 2025 | Kathmandu, Nepal

The Centre for the Study of Labour and Mobility (CESLAM) at Social Science Baha and Chr. Michelsen Institute (CMI) invite proposals for papers on areas related to labour market and job creation in the Nepali context to be presented at the Job Creation and Competence Building workshop to be held on 29-30 April 2025 in Kathmandu, Nepal.

The proposed papers can deal with any aspect of labour markets, including the future of work, informal employment, skill development and global market trends, the role of remittances in entrepreneurship development in Nepal, internal migration, social protection and labor market policies, among others.

Interested applicants are required to submit the following documents to info@ceslam.org by 28 February 2025:

An abstract of no more than 500 words
A one-page CV

Applicants will be notified of the decision on their proposals by 7 March 2025.

The selected applicants are required to submit the final paper, of around 5000 words, by 31 March 2025 for publication in an edited volume following revisions after the workshop.

The language of the conference is English.
