Centre for Study of Labour and Mobility (CESLAM) at Social Science Baha in collaboration with the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) conducted a study on ‘Labour Market and Migration Trends in Nepal’ in July-August 2014. The objective of this study is to analyse the current trends and patterns of migration and provide an assessment of the roles and activities of government and private organisations in relation to the existing policies and systems directed at information, preparation, and recruitment of labour migrants. It is expected that the assessment will inform recommendations directed at policies, strategies and interventions that need to be developed or strengthened in Nepal in order to facilitate and improve support mechanisms for labour migrants.
