This study seeks to review and analyse Nepal’s legal and policy provisions as they relate to the country’s commitment to and recent progress toward achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8, particularly the decent work agenda. The analysis looks at whether and if existing laws and policies are in compliance with decent work and core labour standards, which are instrumental for protecting and promoting worker rights. The study also explores whether and how the Government of Nepal (GoN) engages stakeholders (mainly trade unions), reviews, and implements labour rightsrelated policies and plans, and integrates feedback from unions. Additionally, it sheds light on synergies or gaps between policies and enforcement.
